Some consideration of form has been ongoing this week. In addition we were tasked with creating a lamp from scratch in 6 hours. I went for solid oak and found a box of miscellaneous bits to create a rudimental switch. It seemed fitting to create a switch from found parts that is activated with found parts e.g a screwdriver or nail. I was happy with the outcome considering it was very rushed. I could have done a better band saw job on the neck of the lamp but overall, it tuned out ok.I utilised the cable as a way of moving the bulf into various positions. This happened to be more effective then I though it would be so one day, I’m going to give myself a few days and design mark 2, with more consideration of the shape of the neck and with a base turned from 1 piece instead of manually cut from 2.
Back to the Space:Radio (still working title) I have now worked out the dimensions necessary to fit all the electronics and connections that I think I will be incorporating.
